Landscapes

Eight years ago we moved to a county in the south of England, East Sussex, at the eastern end of the South Downs. - Our town overlooks the sea and we overlook both. To our right there is nothing but thousands of miles of ocean to Cuba and the tip of South America. Straight ahead is France and to our left Belgium and Holland. And over time here my personal outlook on life has changed.

East Sussex has broad vistas of rolling hills, sometimes hidden in mists, sometimes set against clear blue skies, sometimes with the English Channel as the backdrop, but always dramatic in the way that geological evolution has shaped it - luscious green valleys, soaring cliffs, and wonderful, seasonally coloured fields, rolling hills which seem as if they have been moulded with love by someone conducting  Swan Lake. The contrast with the craggy beauty of Poldark's Cornwall takes you back.
